I took off early from work to visit dad at Veterans Memorial. Today is his birthday. A couple of friends wanted to come visit him with me and although unusual Im pretty sure he would like to have met them.
Dad was the most interesting man I knew. But this is an understatement to those who knew him better than me. I cannot do justice by describing his life to you in thus short space. In one one of the last conversations I had with him, remonicing back upon his life before retirement, before BrownRooy, before Aramco, before Williams Brothers, before Catapillar, before the laundromat, before Russia, before being a cop, before Korea. Dad told me about a teenage job in the outskirts of Oklahoma City stripping skin from leather. Throwing salt and coals onto the hides of skin to cure skin to leather.
Happy Birthday Dad.
